Although flowable, Flowtain features thixotropic properties that prevent slumping, allowing the material to stay exactly where it is placed. After curing, it exhibits a relatively low elastic modulus, making it more flexible and less brittle than conventional composites, reducing the risk of fractures over time.
The material can be polished to a high-gloss finish, helping minimize wear, improve patient comfort, and enhance esthetics. It also fluoresces under UV light, making excess material easy to detect and remove.
