Ortho-Cast M-Series Buccal Tubes for Second Molars by Dentaurum, Germany
These tubes are designed for the second molars in the lower jaw and are used in orthodontic treatments following the MBT system (with a maximum archwire size of **.022”). The -10° torque helps tip the root lingually (inward), contributing to ideal molar positioning in the arch. The 0° offset means the slot is set in a neutral angulation—neither mesial nor distal—allowing for precise molar alignment. The mesial hook allows for the attachment of elastics, power chains, or other auxiliaries.
The tube is manufactured using MIM (Metal Injection Molding) technology as a single-piece unit. It is non-convertible, meaning it cannot be opened into a bracket slot, which ensures greater strength and long-term durability.

Clinical Use and Considerations:
Commonly used on terminal molars to secure the ends of archwires as part of a comprehensive fixed appliance treatment.
The MBT prescription supports effective torque and angulation control using archwires up to 0.022”.
The non-convertible construction and direct bonding design allow for precise placement, expedite treatment, and reduce the need for additional components.
The symmetry between tooth 37 and tooth 47 ensures consistent molar control on both sides of the lower arch.
