Description

3M™ Filtek™ Universal Restorative is a composite material made for creating aesthetic restorations in the anterior and posterior regions of the mouth. It is activated by visible light and has an opacity similar to natural tooth structure. It is offered in shades A1, A2, A3 and A3.5 and a Pink Opaquer option to mask discolorations. The material can be placed in 1mm-thick increments and can cure up to 2mm deep.

Composition

The combination of the four different fillers, along with the AUDMA, AFM, diurethane-DMA, and 1,12-dodecane-DMA, form the Filtek Universal Restorative, a restorative material that is suitable for a variety of dental applications. The filler loading is about 76.5% by weight and 58.4% by volume, and the restorative material is applied to the tooth with a methacrylate-based dental adhesive.

Indication

  • Direct anterior and posterior restorations (including occlusal surfaces), core buildups, splinting, and indirect restorations (inlays, onlays, and veneers).
